The round table «Training of Specialists in the Field of Psychological and Pedagogical Education of Children through the Prism of Adaptation to Emergencies: Resilience Approach» was held at Ostroh Academy

On February 15-17, within the framework of the grant project of the Visegrad Fund «Resilience Approach in Cross-Cultural Training of Future Teachers in Ukraine and V4 Countries», the round table «Training of Specialists in the Field of Psychological and Pedagogical Education of Children through the Prism of Adaptation to Emergencies: Resilience Approach» was conducted at the National University of Ostroh Academy.

The participants of the event were representatives of the National University of Ostroh Academy, the University of Žilina (Slovakia), the Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) and the University of Bielsko-Biała (Republic of Poland).

The round table was moderated by Eduard Balashov, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Rector's Assistant for International Cooperation and Fundraising of the National University of Ostroh Academy.

Halyna Gandzilevska, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Head of the Project from Ostroh Academy noted:

«The resilience approach demonstrates the ability of a person or a group of people to function successfully, adapt and recover quickly in threatening and stressful situations. It so happened that we had to test our scientific hypotheses on our own experience. And the fact that you and I were able to meet today, despite the obstacles and difficulties, shows that the main construct of resilience in education is a resource of support at various levels. Thank you for your resilience and willingness to fulfill your intellectual mission. Today, I wish everyone to meet their professional insight and get what they need»,

Doc. PhDr, PhD., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Zhilin University Slavka Pitonakova added:

«I am very happy about this meeting of educators and researchers from four countries, united by a common theme. On behalf of the Humanities Faculty of the University of Žilina, I express great admiration that we are a part of this, in our time, such an important and useful international project, which will certainly provide innovative approaches to the training of future teachers and psychologists who work with children and youth.   • «Principles of Organisation of Sanogenic Educational Space through the Prism of Resilience Approach: Ukrainian-Slovak Experience» (Prof. Halyna Handzilevska, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Olena Hundarenko, PhD.,  Doctor of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities, University of Žilina, Žilina (Slovakia);

Representatives of the Univeristy of Žilina Mgr., PhDr. Eva Škorvagová, PhD., Mgr. Eva Leláková, PhD. in British and American Studies, PhDr., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Žilina Slavka Pitoňáková, presented the following topics: «Stress-free Way to the Necessary Support, Resilience, Flexibility, Strength, and Understanding»,

«Chess Grandmaster Versus Humility and Recognition of Own Limitations in the Sense of Super Vision and Resilience», as well as «Relaxation as a Source of Support for Psychological Resistance and Performance».

The speaker from the University of Bielsko-Biała (Republic of Poland) was dr hab., prof. Barbara Loranc, Professor of the Institute of Neophilology. She presented the following topics: «Building Community Resilience - Insights from Social Network Analysis», «An Overview of Theoretical Approaches to Develop and Sustain Resilience», «Using Positive Psychology to Develop Strategies of Uplifting Students' Well-being».

Representatives of Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) Mgr. Josef Nevařil, PhD., Mgr. Blanka Babická, PhD., Mgr. Barbora Kvapilová presented the following topics: «Towards Learners' Wellbeing in the Classroom", «Self- and Peer Assessment as a Way to Enhance Learners’ Resilience», as well as «Promoting Resilience, Self-Compassion and Kindness in Children through the Teachings of Mindfulness Meditation».

The project «Resilience Approach in Cross-Cultural Training of Future Teachers in Ukraine and V4 Countries» is aimed at training future teachers in the field of psychological and pedagogical education of children. Particular attention will be paid to psychological and didactic conditions for the formation of psychological security of primary school children and adolescents in crises and emergencies, development of sanogenic thinking. It is aimed to identify the main psychological and didactic needs of future teachers through the prism of adaptation to emergencies; improve the educational process in the field of education of children and adolescents through the resilience approach.
